Company Summary:

Envoy Air Inc. is formerly American Eagle Airlines and is the American regional airline with headquarters located in Irving, Texas found in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.  Envoy is a wholly owned subsidiary of American Airlines Group, together with many carriers outside the group, sustains the American Airlines route network under the American Eagle brand.   Envoy started as a collection of different regional carriers that are contracted to carry the American Eagle Brand name. This followed a merger of a number of smaller regional carriers to come up with one of the largest regional airlines in the world.   American Airlines Group formally declared the rebranding of the American Eagle subsidiary to Envoy.  All aircraft used by American Eagle lingered on operating under the current American Eagle branding, but a label is added that states, “Operated by Envoy Air”. The name change was created to prevent confusion when American Airlines declared that other regional carriers will be operating on behalf of American.   American Airlines Group is the holding company for American Airlines, US Airways, and Envoy.
