Company Summary:

Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. is the global leader in first-tier aerostructures manufacturing based in Wichita, Kansas.  Spirit is involved in the building of many important pieces of a Boeing aircraft, including the fuselage of the 737, portions of the 787 fuselage, and the cockpit section of the fuselage of almost all of its airliners.

Spirit was created when Boeing Commercial Airplanes sold the Wichita division to investment firm Onex.  Boeing Defense, Space & Security kept their military business in Wichita.  Boeing later sold most of their properties to Air Capital Flight Line.  This division in Wichita was responsible for the construction of numerous important aircraft in the history of Boeing.  This includes the B-47 Stratojet, B-29 Superfortress, and B-52 Stratofortress.  Spirit can also trace its history back to Stearman Aircraft, which was founded on the same site and later became a part of Boeing.

Spirit understands that having a job is well beyond pay.  Employees of Spirit will have access to the Spirit AeroSystems’ Total Rewards benefits program.  Employee’s health, financial security, professional growth, as well as work/life balance are as important to Spirit as it is to their employees.  The program provides coverage, resources, and support to help their people live better and more rewarding lives.
