Company Summary:

Kimberly-Clark Corporation is an American multinational personal care corporation that creates mostly paper-based consumer items. They manufacture sanitary paper products as well as surgical and medical instruments. Some of Kimberly-Clark’s brand names include Kleenex, Kotex, , and many others. Kimberly-Clark’s headquarters are located in Irving, Texas.

Kimberly, Clark and Co. started in 1872 by John A. Kimberly, Havilah Babcock, Charles B. Clark, and Franklyn C. Shattuck in Neenah, Wisconsin. Their first business was operating paper mills, which later expanded throughout the decades. They experienced a major setback as the paper mill burned in 1888. An extensive effort by labor and management made them rebuild the mill within five months and with greater capacity. The company saw rapid expansion that same year and purchased land in a town then known as The Cedars, which was later renamed “Kimberly” after John A. Kimberly.

It was in 1914 when they developed cellu-cotton, a cotton substitute that the US Army used as a surgical cotton during World War I, which army nurses later used as disposable sanitary napkins. Then Kotex was introduced as the first disposable feminine hygiene product. Then Kleenex was introduced in 1924.

Kimberly-Clark employees enjoy a variety of choices as well as flexibility to meet ever-changing needs. They are provided with benefits inclusive of medical, dental, and vision coverage along with many other plans to prepare themselves for their future.
