On August 6, 1892, Morey, Henry Failing, and Fredrick Van Voorhies Holman formed the Portland General Electric Company, which was funded by General Electric and the investment arm of the Old Colony Trust. For most of its life PGE has been an independent company but briefly was owned by the Houston-based Enron Corporation from 1997 to 2006.
